Dear Fellow MV GATE Parent:

Many of us have wondered what happened to programs in MV’s “Gifted and Talented Education” (GATE) program.  Last week a group of MV GATE parents began to self-organize to work with district officials and parents, with the goal of “rebooting” GATE so as to build upon its successes in middle school, and to establish its presence in primary grades.

We are pleased to invite you and all MV GATE parents to participate in this process.

You will be invited very soon to join us for a GATE gathering where we will discuss GATE and its potential for our kids, and make plans.  We hope you will join us at this meeting.

If you want to participate actively in GATE, we’ll be adding people to the GATE Advisory Committee shortly.  You may complete and return the Expression of Interest form at the upcoming GATE meeting, or after.

GATE in MV has a rich history of strong programs in recent years.  The imminent GATE “reboot” will create a new generation of GATE programs and engaged parent leaders — we hope you will consider becoming one.
