Presidio Ropes Course: PLI Team-Building Adventure Challenge (11/9)
Mount Diablo Tarantula Hike
OK, that was pretty cool: Our MV GATE Tarantula Hike was awesome — 35 people, a half dozen wild tarantulas, a memorable time for all (look at those faces!). Big thanks to Naturalist Jim Holmes & all our attendees. More photos of happy kids & ginormous spiders below.
Now, how about YOU creating our next parent-led MV GATE program? It’s easy: do you know or have you heard about some place or activity that our kids & families should experience? What about your contacts with some eye-opening people or organization? Is there something you could teach or show kids and their families yourself?
Well then, get moving! Contact us at MV GATE with ANY idea. We will help you figure it out, pay for it, sponsor it, handle logistics, and market it to our 400 member families – and you can give our kids a cool new learning experience. Email us your ideas now at mvgateac@gmail.com. Arts, science, math, nature, technology, music, sports… you name it! We look forward to hearing from you.
Helping Parents & Educators Guide Gifted Children, with SENG Founder Dr James Webb
UPDATE: Webb Talk Draws Engrossed Audience
Dr. James Webb’s talk “Parenting Gifted Children” drew a capacity audience to the Mill Valley Community Center as Jim worked though highlights of his encyclopedic knowledge and research on gifted children. The doctor’s 90-minute talk went two and a half hours as he passed along a steady stream of insights and resources for parents rising to the challenges and opportunities of raising gifted kids. We’d like to again thank Dr. Webb and our two co-sponsors, the California Association for the Gifted and the Gifted Resource Center. Watch his superb presentation today, and share ideas with other parents!
