UPDATE: Dominican University had to cancel Super Saturdays for Feb-Mar 2013 because of low enrollment. :-( But they’ll try again to offer Super Saturdays this Fall and Winter, and the regular Summer Odyssey program (July 15-26) will proceed as scheduled.

Great news: The much-loved Summer Odyssey program at Dominican University* is expanding to offer Saturday morning enrichments starting in February.
Super Saturdays will begin with your choice of five classes for GATE kids in grades 4-8, held from 9am-noon on four Saturdays (2/2, 2/9, 2/23, 3/2):
- Rocketry (for grades 6-7-8)
- Animal Art (6-7-8)
- Write and Publish Your Own Book (4-5-6)
- The Art and Science of the Microscope (4-5)
- Songwriting (4-5-6)
In addition to being a fun project-based learning experience, it’s a great way to build your GATE peer group.
Complete info & signup (PDF) at SODU’s website. Register now, and tell ’em MVGATE sent you.

* If you don’t know Summer Odyssey, it’s a great resource. For years, Dominican University in San Rafael has offered a selective gifted and talented enrichment program unique to Marin County, in which high-aptitude kids grades 1-8 take project-based courses on-campus for two weeks during the summer. At a time when many local districts’ GATE programs are contracting, SODU is a real asset for the Marin GATE community. Check it out.

Are there any other girls who are signing up for the Rocket class?
