It’s exciting enough sneaking into the movie theater — how about sneaking into the movie studio?
Pixar is the hottest animation studio on Earth — Toy Story, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, the latest Oscar-winner Brave, on and on. And they don’t give tours.
Well, they gave us a tour…

Thanks to Rob Thomure (MS-8), seven lucky MVGATE kids went on a private, guided tour of Pixar Studios in Emeryville in April. The tour was hosted by Rob’s pal, Barney Jones, who is a music editor at Pixar.
This time we tried a new method of selecting the seven kids: a contest. All seven submitted compelling entries Why I Should Go To Pixar, but we wanted to highlight the Scratch animation Gray Timberlake (MS-6) worked hard to create over spring break. Well done, Gray! And our deepest thanks again to Rob and Barney. What a fine and generous thing they do for our kids.
